ABOUT THE VENUE

The Wild Box studio is the largest dedicated Yoga & Movement Studio in Bristol, UK. They are just fourteen minutes walk from Bristol Temple Meads station, and less than ten minutes from Bedminster station, the studio occupies a lovingly restored warehouse nestled in a formal industrial area just to the south of the river.

The studio itself is large and open, full of light, and with an industrial feel that is softened with carefully considered touches such as underfloor heating, warm lighting, and textiles.

WHY 'RADICAL REST'?

In today’s fast-paced world, taking time to rest has become a bold and necessary act. In a society that often glorifies busyness and overwork, choosing to rest and recharge can sometimes be seen as a sign of weakness or laziness. We’re often expected to constantly work and achieve to feel successful and valuable.

Because of this, many people push themselves to the edge of burnout, sacrificing their physical and mental health. This constant state of stress and exhaustion can lead to many negative effects, like decreased productivity, mood swings, and even chronic health issues.

By choosing to prioritise rest and self-care, we’re embracing our right to take a break and focus on our well-being. We’re standing up for ourselves and rejecting the harmful idea that our worth is tied to how productive we are.

Taking time to rest has become a bold, radical move because it challenges the norm and makes society face the negative impacts of overwork and constant busyness. It’s a powerful act of self-preservation and a stand against the pressures of modern life.
